All RA insurance companies have joined the universal health insurance system

On February 25, the Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Armenia signed a memorandum with «Nairi Insurance,» «Rego Insurance,» and «Armenia Insurance» companies. Thus, all seven insurance companies operating in the republic have joined the universal health insurance system.

Within the framework of the system, the basic insurance package formed by the state will be supplemented with additional services offered by private companies. The goal is to ensure cooperation between the public and private sectors and to expand the range of services provided.

The universal health insurance system has been in operation since January 1, 2026. In the first phase, citizens receiving a salary of 200,000 AMD or more, as well as children under 18 and persons aged 65 and over, have been included. For them, 100% state support is provided in 2026.

The annual insurance package amounts to 129,600 AMD and includes preventive, early detection, screening, hospital, pharmaceutical, and emergency services. Citizens with a salary between 200,000 and 500,000 AMD will pay 300 AMD per month, as a significant portion of the money they transfer to the «Zinapah» Fund will be directed to the insurance system.
