Ararat Mirzoyan will meet Sergey Lavrov
Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, will meet with Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov. The meeting will take place within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Despite the meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries, on November 25, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan stated that Ararat Mirzoyan would not participate in the joint session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Council of Foreign Ministers, Defense Ministers, and Security Council Secretaries. The session was scheduled to take place on November 28 in Astana.
Back in February of this year, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia had practically frozen its participation in the CSTO. In September, the Prime Minister declared that the CSTO was creating threats to Armenia’s security, future existence, sovereignty, and statehood.
The OSCE Ministerial Council meeting will take place on December 8-9.
