With the Ministry of Economy’s new proposal, Armenia’s budget could increase by 38.7 billion AMD
The Ministry of Economy proposes another program to support exports by compensating transportation costs.
It is estimated that a 30% reduction in transportation costs could significantly increase export volumes, contributing to a 38.7 billion AMD increase in budget revenues over three years.
The project has been submitted for discussion on the unified e-draft legal acts portal. According to the clarification provided in the document, the government aims not only to promote the export of non-resource-based goods but also to enter new markets and reduce the impact of transportation costs on the pricing of Armenian products.
It is proposed to provide compensation of up to 1,200 AMD 1 kilogram for goods exported via commercial air transport. For road transport, the compensation amount will be up to 25,000 AMD per ton of exported goods.
