An emergency situation has been declared in the Aragatson and Lori regions due to snow
On November 27, an emergency situation was declared in several villages along the Yerevan-Vanadzor highway due to snow. The 17-kilometer stretch leading to Spitak is covered with black ice.
The main road leading to several villages, including Rya Taza, Melik, Tsilkar, Gegharot, Alagyaz, Jamshlu, and the winding road to Spitak, is completely covered with black ice.
Over 40 vehicles have been removed from the icy road. Several citizens’ vehicles have been relocated to safe areas by the police of Aragatsotn and Lori regions. The Spitak road maintenance team has begun clearing the snow from the road.
Since November 25, there have been closed highways in Armenia.
