Five Armenian chess players are ranked among the best in FIDE’s ranking list
The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has published its December ranking list, featuring five of Armenia’s top chess players in the world’s top 100.
In the men’s rankings, Armenia has two representatives: Grandmasters Haik Martirosyan and Shant Sargsyan, who are ranked 70th and 85th, respectively.
Former leader of Armenia’s men’s chess team, Levon Aronian, is ranked 11th in FIDE’s list. Now he competes under the U.S. flag.
In the women’s rankings, Elina Danielian is ranked 48th, Lilit Mkrtchian is 58th, and Anna Sargsyan holds the 84th position.
