Cases of chickenpox infection have increased

In October, 960 cases of chickenpox infection were recorded in Armenia. This figure is almost three times higher than the number of cases recorded in September (369). The data was published by the Armenian Statistical Committee.

The website also shows that the infection has mainly spread among males. The primary carriers of the virus are children aged 3-6 years. This year, the highest number of chickenpox cases was recorded in spring. In May, the number of infected individuals reached 3,340.

Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral disease that is not dangerous but can cause serious problems for those in high-risk groups. It is most commonly found in childhood and is transmitted through airborne droplets. The first symptoms of the disease include fever, weakness, and headache. Afterward, itchy rashes appear on the skin.
