According to Al Arabiya, Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Ghazi al-Jalali has announced the government’s readiness to transfer power through peaceful means, adding that they are prepared to cooperate with any leadership elected by the people.
Additionally, the head of the Syrian government called for the preservation of state institutions, which he described as “intended for everyone.” Syrian rebel forces claim to have entered Damascus. It is stated that “militarily, Damascus has fallen.”
The leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which heads the country’s armed opposition, issued a statement urging rebel forces to leave state institutions unharmed.
The rebels allege that Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad has fled Damascus, however, the Syrian presidential office and Iranian officials have previously insisted that he has not left the capital. U.S. officials told CNN that his regime could soon collapse.
