The change in transportation tariffs could have a 0.5% impact on economic growth in the coming year
Central Bank President Martin Galstyan discussed this year’s and next year’s economic growth during a press conference. According to Galstyan, approximately 6% economic growth is expected this year, while next year, it is projected to be around 5%.
The press conference also addressed the changes in transportation tariffs in Yerevan. These changes could have up to a 0.5% impact on inflation in the country. This was noted by the Central Bank President.
According to the decision adopted by the Yerevan City Council, new public transportation tariffs will come into effect on January 1, 2025. The current 100-dram fare will no longer be valid, and ticket packages—monthly and annual—will be introduced. Also some certain discounts were provided.
The Yerevan Municipality is offering 6 payment packages for public transportation users, under these plans, a single ride will cost 300 drams. The annual package is relatively more advantageous; using it twice daily, the fare per ride will amount to 120.5 drams.
