Tigran Mansurian’s Film Score Album to Be Released on December 20
On December 20, an album featuring the film scores of renowned Armenian composer Tigran Mansurian will be released. This was announced by the Yerevan Municipality. The pieces will be performed by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Sergey Smbatyan.
The album includes Mansurian’s beloved compositions from iconic Armenian films. They will be available on leading global music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube.
Tigran Mansurian has composed music for films such as “We and Our Mountains”, “Autumn Sun”, “A Trip to the Sanatorium”, “The Lord”, “The Tango of Our Childhood”, “A Drop of Honey”, “The Song of the Old Days”, “Gikor”, and others. In an interview, the composer recalled that he received his first offer to write music for a film while still in his 4th year at the Conservatory.
I approached the task of composing film music with great responsibility. The biggest challenge for me was transitioning from my own music to film scoring, as it required completely shifting the psychology, sound perception, and values into the realm of cinema, – noted Mansurian.
The project is being carried out as part of the events marking Mansurian’s 85th birthday anniversary.
