Material damage caused to vehicles during martial law will be compensated

During its regular session on December 19, the government made a decision to compensate for material damage caused to vehicles during martial law.

In the context of the martial law and mobilization declared in 2020, owners of vehicles involved by bodies with military-transport obligations—both individuals and legal entities—will receive appropriate compensation for the material damage caused to those vehicles.

The decision establishes the compensation amounts for 3 individuals and legal entities who own vehicles damaged while fulfilling military-transport obligations during martial law and mobilization. The required funds will be allocated from the Government’s reserve fund to the Ministry of Defense.

In May 2023, based on a government decision, 22 damaged vehicles were returned to 25 individuals and legal entities. While 3 vehicles were deemed irreparable losses. At that time, the government provided compensation amounting to 34,560,000 AMD.

To address issues arising during martial law, property owned by individuals and legal entities (excluding monetary funds, securities, and property rights) may also be used if the relevant resources under the state’s control are insufficient.
