The Anti-Corruption Committee has rejected the application of Hovik Aghazaryan’s lawyer
The Anti-Corruption Committee has rejected the application of the lawyer representing Hovik Aghazaryan, a former member of the “Civil Contract” party.
The committee had launched a criminal investigation concerning the unlawful breach of confidentiality in correspondence, phone conversations, and other forms of communication.
The rejection stated the reason for not initiating criminal proceedings. Explaining that “no incident, act, or omission was established that could reasonably warrant a preliminary legal assessment under the Criminal Code.”
The legality of the decision not to initiate proceedings was confirmed by the supervising prosecutor. Hovik Aghazaryan’s lawyer, Hakob Charoyan, plans to appeal the decision.
