Suren Papikyan Satisfied with the Progress of Armenian-American and Armenian-French Cooperation
During the 2024 year-end press conference, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan expressed satisfaction with the current state of Armenian-American and Armenian-French cooperation in the defense sector. He also highlighted that several students have started or continued military education in countries such as Greece, the United States, France, and other foreign universities.
Both Armenian-American and Armenian-French cooperation aim to enhance Armenia’s defense capabilities. The United States supports the transformation of our armed forces as an advisor and partner. The same can be said about France. I can only express satisfaction with the current state of our cooperation because the opportunities they provide are crucial for the institutional reforms and the creation of new frameworks in our army, – Papikyan stated.
He emphasized that the introduction of a professional sergeant system in the Armed Forces holds critical importance. According to him, upcoming efforts will focus on further strengthening the professional sergeant system within the Armed Forces.
