A threshold will be set below which transfers will not need to be declared
By May 1, 2025, all employees (excluding foreign nationals) must submit tax declarations in Armenia.
In December 2022, the National Assembly adopted a project to implement a universal income declaration system for citizens, requiring all Armenians to report their annual income to the state starting in 2025.
As part of the income declaration system, the state plans to set a threshold below which transfers will not require declaration. Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), Eduard Hakobyan, announced this during a press conference summarizing the results of 2024.
To make it easier for citizens to submit declarations, the SRC has an awareness campaign planned. The committee will visit the regions, and informational brochures on how to complete declarations will be available in their service centers.
Hakobyan stated that an announcement will be made in the coming days regarding the thresholds below which transfers will not need to be declared and above which they will.
The SRC chairman also addressed donations, noting that while they are not taxed, citizens are still required to declare them.
