
The Yerevan Municipality Plans to Acquire 250 New Buses and 45 Trolleybuses in 2025
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan made a post on his Facebook page. He stated that the Yerevan Municipality plans to acquire 45 new trolleybuses in 2025 and is currently in active negotiations to purchase 250 new 18-meter buses.
In his post, Avinyan mentioned that last year the municipality purchased 171 new buses and 15 new trolleybuses. Most of which are already in operation, serving the city.
Avinyan also addressed the vacant positions for bus drivers, instructing that all vacancies be filled by the end of January, he noted that there are about 50,000 drivers in Armenia with a Category D license. According to the minister, new drivers are needed to ensure full deployment of vehicles on the routes.
Regarding the public’s long wait times at bus stops, the mayor assured that all efforts are being made to resolve this issue.
The buses and trolleybuses to be acquired in 2025, according to Avinyan, will further improve the quality of public transportation services.
