Pashinyan Addresses EU Relations in Davos
On January 23, Nikol Pashinyan participated in a panel discussion titled “How to Design Europe’s Power” within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos. He touched upon the regulation of Armenia’s relations with the European Union, highlighting the successes achieved in recent years.
From a legal perspective, we are already initiating the process of bringing the European Union closer to our country. We want to be closer to the European Union because our country is democratic. Over the past few years, there have been significant changes and improvements in our relations. We have already started negotiations on visa liberalization, which has been on our agenda for years. We also want to develop economic ties with the European Union, – Pashinyan stated.
The forum is attended by around 3,000 leaders from more than 130 countries, including 350 public officials, among them 60 heads of state and government from all key regions.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev is also in Davos. It is not yet known whether a meeting between Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev will take place. Moments ago, Pashinyan shared a video of his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
It is worth recalling that the World Economic Forum began on January 20 in Davos, Switzerland, and will last until January 24. This year’s forum is themed “Cooperation in an Intelligent Age.”
