Smuggling offenses detected within one Week

The customs authorities of Armenia have uncovered a series of violations at various customs checkpoints within one week.

According to data from October 27 to November 2, SRC (State Revenue Committee) employees discovered a large quantity of smuggled goods in trucks, buses, and with passengers arriving on international flights.

Specifically, as a result of inspections carried out at the “Agarak” customs checkpoint, 9,820 packs of undeclared cigarettes, which had been concealed from customs control, were found in just 9 cases. At the same checkpoint, 7,845 liters of diesel fuel were discovered in 17 different instances. During the inspection of a bus at the same checkpoint, 62 bundles of natural hair were also found undeclared.

By air, a passenger arriving on the Dubai-Yerevan flight was found to be carrying a watch box bearing the Rolex inscription, while at the “Bagratashen” border crossing point, an attempt was made to transport 6 IPhone 17 Pro mobile phones and Macbook computers across the border in a passenger vehicle.

There were also discoveries at the “Gogavan” customs checkpoint: 403 packs of undeclared cigarettes and 11 kilograms of clothing.
