Newborn dies at “Astghik” Medical Center; relatives accuse doctors
A newborn died at the “Astghik” Medical Center last night. A 27-year-old pregnant woman was transferred to the center’s maternity hospital with labor pains on the night of November 10-11, around 03:00. A few hours later, the medical staff informed the mother’s relatives that the newborn had died.
The relatives of the deceased infant are accusing the doctors of improper provision of medical care and have already contacted law enforcement agencies.
The Investigative Committee reports that a criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding the incident under the alleged characteristics of non-performance or improper performance of professional duties by a healthcare worker. Examinations have been ordered, and necessary investigative and procedural actions are being carried out.
The investigation is ongoing.
