The Reason for the Pollution of the River Near Amulsar is Known
The water source located near the Jrashat community in Vayots Dzor Province was damaged as a result of earthworks carried out by “Stroymontazh” LLC. Between November 1-8, the company constructed an underground trench for laying power transmission lines, during which the natural flow of the source was damaged, and the clay-sand mixture used polluted the waters.
Samples taken from adjacent sources and streams did not record any pollution. The director of the company has been subjected to administrative liability for violating water resources protection regulations.
The Inspectorate noted that unmanned digital systems are used and laboratory studies are conducted to detect and control such cases.
The drinking water in Kechut village of Vayots Dzor Province changed its natural color and condition. On November 10, based on an alert from environmentalists, the Environmental and Subsoil Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia initiated administrative proceedings.
