Three Individuals Arrested in Case of Particularly Large-Scale Drug Smuggling
The preliminary investigation into the criminal proceedings initiated over the smuggling and illegal circulation of particularly large quantities of drugs has been completed. As reported by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia (IC RA), three individuals have been detained in connection with the case.
According to the preliminary investigation body, an RA citizen illegally acquired a particularly large quantity of the drug “Methamphetamine” with the intent to sell it and transported it to Armenia, concealing it under clothing. He was arrested upon entering the country.
Public criminal prosecution has been initiated against the citizen under articles related to the illegal circulation and smuggling of particularly large quantities of drugs. During the course of the investigation, criminal prosecution under similar articles was also initiated against two other individuals.
Detention has been applied as a measure of restraint against the three suspects. The criminal proceedings, along with the indictment, have been sent to the prosecutor.
