Son of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan Detained for Two Months
Spartak Ghukasyan, the son of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, has been detained for two months. The information was reported by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia (IC RA).
Spartak Ghukasyan was arrested the previous day. He is charged with committing hooliganism and obstructing the activities of an official. Information was disseminated on November 20 that masked individuals had transported him in an unknown direction. It was later revealed that he was under the supervision of law enforcement.
According to lawyer Aramayis Hayrapetyan, Spartak Ghukasyan had been under house arrest since September 12 in connection with an extortion case. The investigator petitioned for his detention, and the court granted the motion.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
