Forum of State Body Representatives Held Under the Leadership of the Prime Minister: Official Farewell or a Symbolic Start for the Upcoming Political Race
The first forum of representatives of Armenia’s state bodies was held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, attended by around 7,000 people. The event was attended by RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, NA President Alen Simonyan, Constitutional Court (CC) President Arman Dilanyan, as well as representatives of the legislative, executive, judicial, and law enforcement systems, independent bodies, the Armed Forces, and state-supporting sectors.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s speech titled “The Formula for the Perpetuity of the State” became the focal point of the forum. According to Pashinyan, all employees of the state system are united by collective responsibility, and the quality of their work predetermines the effectiveness of the state.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the “macro-goal” of the work of Armenia’s state bodies must be ensuring the country’s perpetuity. He stated that the vision for the thousand-year development of the state shapes the general psychology of actions and strategic thinking.
Pashinyan particularly highlighted the role of legitimacy, noting that it must become the basis for both external and internal relations. The Prime Minister declared that the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration continues to be the core of Armenia’s foreign policy legitimacy, while internal legitimacy requires the adoption of a new Constitution through the free expression of the people’s will.
According to him, citizens’ “sense of alienation” regarding the current legal order is partly due to the lack of confidence in previous constitutional referendums, and this issue must be overcome with a new Constitution based on public trust.
The forum continued with sectoral discussions, where representatives of state bodies also presented proposals regarding systemic reforms.
