Changes at the Investigative Committee
Vazgen Mamikonyan, the Head of the Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative District Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee (IC), was relieved of his duties yesterday. His dismissal was carried out upon his own application, by an order signed by the IC Chairman Artur Poghosyan.
Today, the new head of the department is already known: the position has been assumed by Levon Levonyan, who has worked in various investigative structures and has over a decade of work experience. He served as a senior investigator in the IC General Department for Investigation of Cases, and before that, he was an investigator for the National Security Service (NSS) and also worked in the Ajapnyak-Davtashen and Mashtots Investigative Departments.
Levonyan was born in 1989 in Yerevan and graduated from the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of the Faculty of Law at Yerevan State University (YSU). He has been recognized multiple times with departmental awards for conscientiously performing his official duties.
This change within the Investigative Committee is considered a regular personnel reshuffling implemented to ensure the continuous and effective operation of the department.
