Exclusive Christian Monument Discovered in Lernahovit
During the replacement work of gas pipelines in the Lernahovit community of Lori Province, builders noticed a monument with Christian carvings, which they immediately reported to the relevant authorities.
According to studies conducted by the “Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Heritage Reserve-Museums” SNCO (State Non-Commercial Organization), the monument dates back to the early Middle Ages, and the biblical imagery emphasizes the exceptional historical and cultural significance of the artifact.
The SNCO also reports that separate fragments were discovered in the area. According to locals, this is not the first such instance of discoveries in Lernahovit: pottery and stone fragments have been found in various parts of the village previously, which may prove that an ancient temple existed in the Lernahovit area.
