The Military Court of the Southern Okrug in Rostov-on-Don has sentenced three Armenian citizens—Artyom and Grigor Azatyan, as well as truck driver Artur Terzhanyan—to life imprisonment. They were accused of involvement in the terrorist attack carried out on the Crimean Bridge.
In total, eight individuals were found guilty, including Oleg Antipov, Alexander Bilin, Vladimir Zloba, Dmitry Tyazhelikh, Roman Solomko, and Artur Terzhanyan. They are accused of terrorism and illegal circulation of weapons or explosive materials, while Roman Solomko and Artur Terzhanyan were also charged with smuggling explosive devices. It should be noted that Artur Terzhanyan is included in the registry of individuals and organizations linked to extremist or terrorist activities.
The terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge took place on October 8, 2022, resulting in the deaths of five people due to the explosion of a truck. The explosive device, which was later brought onto the bridge, was manufactured in Ukraine and transported via a complex route through a corridor involving citizens of Armenia, Georgia, and Ukraine, from the port of Poti to Russia.
According to the materials of the criminal case, certain officials from Ukraine’s Military Intelligence and Security Service were also involved in the organization of the terrorist attack.
