High school students beat up a college student in Tavush; criminal prosecution initiated against them.
A group of high school students from Zorakan village in Tavush Province beat and humiliated a student of Noyemberyan State College. The information and a video of the incident were published by user Nanar Poghosyan on “Facebook.”
It is noted that the video was filmed by the minors who participated in the incident.
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia reports that criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the incident of hooliganism, abduction, and physical violence, and public criminal prosecution has begun against 5 individuals.
According to the Investigative Committee, a motion for arrest has been submitted to the court for all 5 minors.
Currently, it is known that 4 of them have been arrested for a period of 20 days, and one has been placed under house arrest.
During the extension phase of the arrests, the court rejected the motion for the 4 individuals, while administrative supervision and a travel ban were applied to one.
There are reports in the media that one of the minors involved in the violence was the son of Ruben Gasparyan, Deputy Head of the RA Ministry of Justice “Artik” Penitentiary Institution.
