92 citizens provided with assistance due to snow
According to the Rescue Service (RS), from 08:00 on December 27 to 08:00 on December 28, the National and Regional Crisis Management Centers of the RS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received numerous alerts regarding vehicles stranded on roads due to heavy snowfall.
Rescuers extracted 47 vehicles from blockages and provided assistance to 92 citizens.
The Rescue Service reports that due to heavy snowfall, RS units across the entire territory of the republic have switched to a reinforced service mode since December 27. Despite snow removal operations, videos are circulating on social media showing that the streets of several major cities remain covered in snow or ice.
Currently, it is snowing in the regions of Ashtarak, Aparan, Aragats, Artik, Ani, Masis, Artashat, Ararat, Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Kapan, Meghri, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Sevan, Dilijan, Ijevan, Gavar, Martuni, and Vardenis.
