Online “paid tasks” may contain serious risks

The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns that “paid tasks” offered through online platforms and mobile applications have recently become widespread, requiring the photography of various locations, objects, and streets, as well as the completion of suspicious surveys.

According to the MIA, such tasks are often presented as harmless but may contain risks. Specifically, they may involve the photography of state or strategically significant objects, the collection of data on infrastructure, security systems, or locations, as well as the accidental capturing of individuals, vehicles, or private territories.

In many cases, citizens performing the tasks are not informed about who the initiator is, for what purpose the data is being collected, or how it might be used in the future.

The Ministry advises against performing tasks related to photography or data collection if their purpose is unclear or arouses suspicion.
