Papikyan provided details on Armenia’s armament
Armenia will continue to modernize its already acquired Russian armament and purchase new military equipment. RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stated this during an annual year-end press conference, answering questions about the maintenance of military equipment.
The Minister noted that there is a sufficient stock of ammunition for the Su-30 fighter jets, and their combat effectiveness will increase upon the arrival of additional supplies.
“The Su-30s are good fighters and can play a major role in the defense of our country’s anti-aircraft and territorial integrity,” Papikyan emphasized.
He added that Armenia will continue to arm itself with new equipment, including weaponry meeting NATO standards, but does not renounce previously acquired military hardware. Thanks to modernization, the already available armament will ensure high combat readiness and is being integrated into new systems.
Papikyan also reminded that in recent years, India has become one of the key military-technical partners, from which Armenia has received multiple launch rocket systems, artillery systems, and anti-aircraft missile complexes. At the same time, Armenia has also acquired certain armaments from France.
