Bail amount for Aghvan Hovsepyan reduced

The 100 million AMD bail applied to the former Prosecutor General of the RA and former Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Aghvan Hovsepyan, has been reduced by half. The information was reported by his defense attorney, Erik Aleksanyan.

According to the lawyer, Tigran Davtyan, a judge at the Anti-Corruption Court of the RA, granted the motion to reduce the bail amount and set it at 50 million AMD.

To recall, on September 7, 2021, the Special Investigative Service of the RA reported that Aghvan Hovsepyan was accused of receiving bribes on a particularly large scale, embezzlement of property through fraud, and money laundering. He was detained and arrested on the same day.

On August 11, 2022, the preventive measure applied to Hovsepyan was changed, and he was released in exchange for 100 million AMD bail and a signature bond not to leave the country.
