Father Artashes reaffirms loyalty to the Church
Father Artashes Hakobyan, the spiritual pastor of St. Sahak-Mesrop Church in the Vosketap community of the Diocese of Masyatsotn, has issued a public apology for his statement made yesterday.
Yesterday, Father Artashes had announced that he was joining the reform program of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Specifically, he had expressed his support for the leader, Bishop Gevorg Saroyan, and the other bishops.
In today’s post, Father Artashes noted that he made the statement under external influence, as a result of “failing to assess reality correctly and mental tension,” and that it does not reflect his true thoughts and convictions.
The clergyman reaffirmed his readiness to continue serving faithfully in the Diocese of Masyatsotn.
