Fire breaks out at “Silk Soft” workshop on Sheram street in Yerevan

An emergency incident was recorded on January 29 at 90/6 Sheram Street in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan. A fire broke out at the “Silk Soft” napkin production workshop. The flames and smoke are visible from several kilometers away, and firefighting and rescue operations are ongoing. This was reported by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Before the arrival of the firefighters, the workshop employees attempted to combat the spread of the fire.

The National Crisis Management Center received the alarm regarding the fire at 14:15. Six fire engines from the Yerevan Rescue Department, one ladder truck, and duty groups from the operational, firefighting, and psychological support services were dispatched to the scene.

Due to the complexity of the fire, an additional 9 fire engines were sent to the scene under a “Call No. 3” status.

According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. The causes of the fire are currently being investigated.
