HRD representatives visit Yerevan Garrison Hospital
On January 29, 2026, by the order of the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsperson) Anahit Manasyan, representatives of the HRD office conducted a rapid response visit to the Yerevan Garrison Military Hospital of the RA Ministry of Defense.
The visit was carried out in response to a complaint filed by a family member of a serviceman, with the aim of verifying the serviceman’s health condition and the progress of the medical care being provided, protecting his rights, and assessing his fitness for further service.
During the visit, the Defender’s representatives held meetings with the hospital’s medical staff and management to discuss the course of ongoing medical examinations, the medical assistance provided, as well as issues regarding the determination of fitness for service.
The HRD representatives also held a private discussion with the serviceman. The latter emphasized the need for psychological consultation and placement in a separate room.
As a result of cooperation with the hospital, the serviceman’s psychological support and his transfer to a separate ward were ensured.
