Former Presidents of Artsakh sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment
Former Presidents of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan and Arkadi Ghukasyan were accused of serious crimes, including war crimes and crimes against humanity.
According to the Constitution of Azerbaijan, taking into account that they are already 65 years old, the Baku Military Court did not impose life imprisonment on them.
Among the captured civilians, Madat Babayan and Melkiset Pashayan were sentenced to 19 years, and Davit Alaverdyan to 16 years of imprisonment.
As a reminder, these trials against the military-political leaders of Artsakh began in January 2025. Earlier, Arayik Harutyunyan, Levon Mnatsakanyan, Davit Manukyan, Davit Ishkhanyan, and Davit Babayan had been sentenced to life imprisonment.
