False alarm used to steal payment terminal in Lori; investigation concluded
The preliminary investigation into the theft of payment terminals from two medical centers registered in the Lori region has been completed, and the case has been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office with an indictment.
According to the Investigative Committee, on May 19, 2025, individuals identified as G.M. and M.A. placed a false alarm to a medical center. After the ambulance departed, they entered the reception area to steal the terminal. They moved it outside the medical center’s premises, broke it using technical tools, and stole approximately 1.5 million AMD, subsequently dividing the money between themselves.
A few weeks later, on June 21, the same individuals entered another medical center through an open window, took the terminal, damaged it, stole approximately 500,000 AMD, and fled the scene.
A search warrant had been issued for G.M. on charges of armed robbery. He was later located and presented to the investigative body. Charges have also been filed against him for robbery, burglary, theft, and illegal arms trafficking. Detention has been selected as a preventive measure for G.M.
