Asset forfeiture proceedings initiated against Artur Aghabekyan and Rubik Hakobyan
The Anti-Corruption Court has admitted for processing the latest lawsuits filed by the General Prosecutor’s Office regarding the confiscation of property of illicit origin.
Specifically, a claim has been filed to confiscate the following in favor of the Republic of Armenia from Artur Alexandr Aghabekyan, former Deputy Minister of Defense of the RA and former Member of the National Assembly, and his affiliated persons: 3 real estate properties, the right to purchase 4 real estate properties located in the Kentron administrative district of Yerevan, the current market value of 1 real estate property, 3 vehicles, participation in 4 legal entities, 27 million 597 thousand AMD as the balance of illicit funds, and 8 million AMD which is not justified by the person’s legal income, is of illicit origin, or cannot be identified.
At the same time, the court has also admitted a lawsuit for confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia from Rubik Karapet Hakobyan, former Consul General of the RA in Saint Petersburg and former Member of the National Assembly, and his affiliated person. The lawsuit includes 5 real estate properties, the right to purchase 1 property, and 2 vehicles.
