How many forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh have received RA citizenship

Around 30,000 persons forcibly displaced from Artsakh have received citizenship of the Republic of Armenia (RA). This was announced by the RA Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, during an annual year-end press conference.

According to her data, 20,769 persons received RA citizenship, and an additional 9,715 minors acquired citizenship through the passport issuance process. According to the Minister, the majority of those who received citizenship applied in the second half of 2025, following the simplification of the process.

Sargsyan noted that while previously 40–50 applications were received per day, currently around 200 applications are submitted daily through the electronic platform. According to her, no cases of rejection have been recorded to date. Since the beginning of the year, approximately 1,000 applications have already been received from forcibly displaced persons.

According to the data from the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 115,365 people were forcibly displaced from Artsakh after September 2023.
