Armenian Weightlifting Championship concludes
The Armenian Weightlifting Championship has concluded at the Sports Management Center, with a total of 110 weightlifters participating. On the final day of the competition, February 15, the champions and medalists in the 94 kg, 110 kg, and +110 kg weight categories were determined.
In the +110 kg weight category, Varazdat Lalayan was crowned the champion of Armenia, recording a total result of 440 kg. Simon Martirosyan won the silver medal (405 kg), and Ashot Movsisyan took the bronze (377 kg).
Garik Karapetyan became the champion in the 110 kg weight category with a result of 380 kg, while Ara Aghanyan earned the title of the best in the 94 kg competition with a total result of 370 kg.
Earlier, Armenian champions were also crowned in other weight categories: Garnik Cholakyan (272 kg) in the 60 kg category, Zhora Grigoryan (254 kg) in the 65 kg category, Gor Sahakyan (330 kg) in the 71 kg category, Martin Poghosyan (337 kg) in the 79 kg category, and Rafik Harutyunyan (350 kg) in the 88 kg category.
The competitions were organized with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (MoESCS) and served to identify the country’s best weightlifters across various weight categories.
