Confiscation of 629 million AMD from former officials
The Prosecutor General’s Office informs that the lawsuit filed by the Department for the Protection of State Interests was partially granted by the verdict of the Anti-Corruption Court dated February 26, 2025.
Based on the verdict, to compensate for the damage caused to the state, an amount of 629,610,000 AMD, equivalent to 1,600,000 USD, will be confiscated from former officials A.H., G.M., and B.A.
The appeal filed by the defendants against the verdict was rejected by the decision of the Anti-Corruption Court of Appeal, and the Court of Cassation also rejected the cassation appeal by its decision of February 11, 2026. Consequently, the verdict of the Anti-Corruption Court has entered into legal force.
It should be noted that within the framework of a criminal case examined in the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, it was revealed that former officials of the Operative-Intelligence Department of the State Tax Service under the Government, acting on the instructions of G.M., conducted improper audits in limited liability companies in 2007 and 2008.
As a result, according to the audit act dated November 22, 2007, an additional tax liability of only 3,605,000 AMD was imposed on the company, whereas it should have actually amounted to 299,342,000 AMD.
According to the audit act dated December 30, 2008, the same company was assigned a liability of 6,000,000 AMD instead of 330,267,000 AMD.
