Armenia to appoint a liaison officer to Europol
Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan received the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, and the delegation led by him.
The Minister of Internal Affairs highly appreciated the close cooperation with the European Union, emphasized the effectiveness of joint programs and the results recorded in specific directions. She also presented the work being carried out by Armenia towards visa liberalization.
Arpine Sargsyan touched upon the cooperation with EU agencies—Frontex and Europol—and highlighted the importance of Armenia appointing a liaison officer to Europol.
During the meeting, measures to combat illicit drug trafficking and opportunities for expanding cooperation were also discussed.
Additionally, details regarding the upcoming visit to Armenia by Magnus Brunner, the EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, were discussed.
