Citizens voluntarily surrender weapons and ammunition
The Police have recorded two cases where citizens voluntarily surrendered weapons and ammunition to law enforcement authorities.
The first case occurred in the city of Ashtarak, where an individual called the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Operational Management Center and reported leaving weapons and ammunition in a small canyon.
At the indicated location, a handgun, a hunting rifle, two “F-1” type grenades with fuses, and 147 rounds of assault rifle ammunition were discovered.
The second case was recorded in the Shirak Province, in an area adjacent to the Gyumri cemetery.
A citizen who called the MIA Operational Management Center reported leaving weapons and ammunition in a semi-dilapidated building. Officers from the Kumayri Department of the Community Police discovered a handgun, an assault rifle, a bayonet-knife, a grenade fuse, a fuse cord, and cartridges of various calibers.
The Police urge citizens in possession of illegal weapons and ammunition to surrender them voluntarily to avoid criminal liability.
