At the Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship, Armenia won three gold medals
In the European Championship for U20 and U23 youth and junior categories taking place in Poland, Armenia claimed four medals: three gold and one silver.
In the women’s 55 kg weight category, Aleksandra Grigoryan became the gold medalist. The reigning European champion lifted 85 kg in the snatch. In the clean and jerk, the 19-year-old athlete lifted 115 kg, achieving a total result of 200 kg. At the European Championship, she had registered a total of 196 kg.
The second gold in the youth competition was won by Zhora Grigoryan in the 55 kg weight category, with a total of 233 kg. He lifted 103 kg in the snatch and 130 kg in the clean and jerk.
The third gold was won by Garnik Cholakyan in the 61 kg weight category, with a total of 275 kg (125 kg + 150 kg).
In the youth 61 kg weight category, Rafik Minasyan won the silver medal, achieving a total of 264 kg (119 kg + 154 kg).
