Support Planned for 11 National Minorities
The government plans to provide support to 11 national minorities and 15 associated non-governmental organizations. This announcement was made by Arayik Harutyunyan during the discussion of the 2025 State Budget.
He mentioned that the national minority support program is managed by the Prime Minister’s Office, with ongoing reforms in this area.
This year, 20 million AMD was initially allocated for national minorities in the budget. We have increased this amount to 25 million, which means that these programs will be continuous, said Harutyunyan. The content of these initiatives is discussed in the council sessions on minority issues, which play a significant role in identifying and addressing challenges faced by national minorities.
The increase compared to 2024 is due to the organization of Sunday schools and summer camps, as well as funding for newspapers, websites, and various publications.
