Death Toll from Floods in Spain Reaches 205
In Valencia, Spain, heavy rains this week have led to a death toll of 205. Authorities have reported that dozens of people are still missing. Forecasters have warned of further flooding in the southwest of the country.
On Friday, southern regions were hit by even heavier rains, complicating rescue efforts.
Valencia, the area most severely affected by the flooding, recorded 202 deaths, according to the region’s president, Carlos Mazón, in a press conference at the disaster coordination center. Another three people died in neighboring regions, authorities reported.
