New Payment Methods to be Introduced in Yerevan’s Public Transport
During an operational meeting, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan discussed new payment methods for public transport.
The mayor noted that discussions are underway with the Central Bank regarding payments via bank cards.
New payment methods will be introduced progressively, and we will regularly review these developments, possibly making additional policy changes, as we did on November 1.
From January 1, a variety of payment options will be available.
Avinyan also touched on privileged groups that benefit from the transport discount system. The benefits package will be approved in one of the upcoming sessions.
There was also mention of payment methods introduced in public transport starting November 1. Daily public transport revenue has increased by 5 million drams on Saturdays and 4 million drams on Sundays.
