
The Armenian national team won and will play in the playoffs
In the final round of the Nations League C Division, the Armenian national team secured a narrow victory against Latvia in an away match (1:2).
Under the leadership of interim coach Suren Chakhalyan, the Armenian national team secured second place in Group D thanks to goals by Eduard Spertsyan and Artur Miranyan, this achievement allowed them to surpass the Faroe Islands team, to whom Armenia had lost just days earlier. Following this victory, the national team will participate in playoff matches to compete for promotion to Division B.
The national team went 27 consecutive matches without keeping a clean sheet. The last time they managed to do so was in June 2022 in a match against Ireland (1:0). In their last 10 official games, the team has achieved 2 victories. Both victories were against Latvia.
North Macedonia secured the top spot in the group with 16 points. Our national team is the second. The Faroe Islands’ team came in third with 6 points. Latvia, with 4 points, finished last and was relegated to Division D.
