In Armenia, there are more female ministers than in neighboring countries

Recently, there were changes in the structure of the Government. Several ministers submitted their resignation letters. Among the new ministers, there are also women.

Interestingly, compared to neighboring countries, Armenia has more female ministers than all the neighboring countries combined.

It is also interesting that in the first year of Pashinyan’s leadership, there was only one female minister, Mane Tandilyan. She held the position of Minister of Labor and Social Affairs. However, Tandilyan remained in this role from May 2018 until November of the same year.

There are also other high-ranking female officials in Armenia. Anna Vardapetyan, the Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, heads a law enforcement agency, and Anahit Manasyan is the Human Rights Defender.
