Car Plows into New Year’s Crowd in New Orleans: 10 Dead, 30 Injured

On January 1, 10 people were killed in New Orleans’ French Quarter on Bourbon Street. A car crashed into a crowd celebrating the New Year.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle sped into the crowd on Bourbon Street. The driver then exited the car and began shooting. Police returned fire in response. The New Orleans city administration stated that 30 people were transported to local hospitals with injuries, while 10 others lost their lives.

The names of the victims and the injured have not yet been released and details about the driver remain unknown. It is unclear whether the driver was injured, apprehended, or killed during the police response.
