Man stabs parents in Gyumri; they die
A 37-year-old man stabbed his parents in Gyumri, as a result of which they died. The information was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The alarm regarding the incident was received by the Police at around 10:10 on December 16. A citizen who called the “911” service reported that the door of the apartment located at 37 Karen Demirchyan Street in Gyumri was locked, and the relatives inside were not responding.
Rescuers who arrived at the scene opened the apartment door, after which the bodies of the couple residing there were discovered inside. Employees of the Shirak Regional Department of the Criminal Police also went to the scene upon the alarm.
According to preliminary data, the 37-year-old man stabbed his father, 64-year-old Sayad A., and his mother, 63-year-old Nazeli A., resulting in their deaths. The suspect has been arrested. The documents related to the incident have been transferred to the preliminary investigation body.
According to several media reports, the man had previously attempted violent acts against his parents and had been registered with a psychiatric institution for years.
