Suspect in the murder case of four people in Aramus and Zovashen declared insane; He will not be detained
T. H., the suspect in the murder case of four people in Aramus and Zovashen, has been declared legally insane (unfit to stand trial) following expert examination. This information is provided by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia (RA).According to the Investigative Committee, based on the conclusion of the forensic psychiatric examination commissioned within the framework of the criminal proceedings, the person was unable to comprehend the nature and public danger of his actions or control them at the time the crime was committed.
On this basis, the criminal proceedings have been converted into proceedings for the application of compulsory medical measures.It is noted that a security measure, namely medical supervision, has been applied against T. H.
To recap, on October 12, the bodies of spouses Armenouhi Gh. and Gevorg Gh. were found in a field in the village of Aramus, Kotayk Province, bearing firearm injuries and traces resulting from a sharp object. Law enforcement officials later arrested the suspect.
On October 14, it became known that the same individual had murdered two more citizens, Marine Hayrapetyan and Vahe Martirosyan, in the village of Zovashen using a hunting rifle registered in his name. On the same day, the Investigative Committee reported that he had given a confession, and public criminal prosecution had been initiated against him.
The investigation of the case is continuing under the procedure for the application of compulsory medical measures.
