Exhibition featuring exclusive exhibits from Berlin to open at the History Museum of Armenia
The History Museum of Armenia and the Museum of Prehistory and Early History in Berlin have officially signed a memorandum of cooperation, marking the beginning of a historic partnership between the two institutions.
Within the framework of this cooperation, a joint exhibition will open at the History Museum of Armenia on September 21, 2026, featuring exclusive exhibits selected from several museums of Berlin’s “Museum Island,” some of which will be displayed for the first time. The exhibition is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the founding of “Museum Island” and is being implemented abroad on such a scale for the first time.
A reciprocal exhibition is planned in Berlin for 2027, during which exclusive pieces from the History Museum of Armenia will be presented for the first time.
The memorandum was signed by Davit Poghosyan, Interim Director of the History Museum of Armenia, and Matthias Wemhoff, Director of the Berlin Museum.
The signing ceremony was attended by Viktor Yengibaryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Germany, and representatives of partner organizations.
The cooperation between the museums began in 2021 with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (MESCS) and the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
